For campers 15 and older, social life and camp traditions meet practical responsibility.
Real responsibilities, real support
Summit calls its older campers Super Teens. The program combines the social experience of camp with transitional life skills, including work opportunities and practice in independent living.
Its published program describes daily meal-service responsibilities and a second job selected after a camp job fair. Roles can include office, mail, activities, athletics or maintenance support.
Life skills woven into the week
Super Teens take part in Tribes for social learning, ADL and transition topics, and an overnight Independence House experience focused on planning, cooking and shared household tasks.
The program also describes supervised off-campus outings and mixed-group evening activities. Across these settings, participants can practice communication, money skills, collaboration and self-advocacy.
